    Autumn 2003
Manga Art Exchange (MAX) is this site that opened in late December 2001 as a go-between for artists to draw each others' characters. As a charter member of MAX, here's a display of what I've given and gotten out of it. Rounds run every half month, and sign up is open to anyone. Visit their site for details.

Travis: "I was surfing A Twu's site and something inside me wanted me to do a picture from her comic \" May we live in interesting times.\" In the picture I sort of played with the feel of some orental pictures in which the fabric appear to be floating. Infact there is a ribbon that is pritty much floating in the picture :p. Mei Jing was done in real media: inked and prismacolor markers. Background was done in photoshop. ^_^ Hope you like it A Twu"

    My Shining Knight

    Arania
    Arania's Art Gallery
Li Hsiao Lin from Tomorrow's Tales

Arania: "I wanted to do one of A Twu's characters that hadn't been drawn quite as much (she most frequently seems to get gift art of her Stupid Melon and Dumb Egg.) So, browsing the site, I found that I really liked the character design of Li - and I found the meterstick swordfighting really amusing! Anyway, that sparked the idea to do a drawing of her with her meterstick in a Tai Chi Ch'uan-type pose (the really dramatic Chinese swordfighting). And I ran from there ^_^ Enjoy!"

    July 2003 B

    Arania
    Arania's Art Gallery
Sabin Duvert from Victorian Legends, a role-playing game.

    Peta Hewitt (ChayPeta)
    Terinu
    Mega Mole from Mega Mole

ChayPeta: "I love your sense of the rediculous, A.Twu. I thought you may appreciate something like this. What if your two rodent combatants grew to even larger proportions? Here are the celestial sized Mole and Gerbil snarling at each other over the distance between two planets. I was aiming here for a old horror Sci Fi movie poster look. This pic took me forever to colour... Hope you like."

    Outgoing To:
    Bex (Rebecca Sue)
    Grand Blue Door
the Grand Blue Door Hotel from Grand Blue Door, a story about a magical hotel. Blue doors keep demons away.

Since the Grand Blue Door Hotel is not only the title character of the comic but also a building (and said to be located in NJ also!) I had to draw it. Here's the view up the front steps approaching the, um, grand blue door.
    Materials: Ink Pen, Marker.
